june roundup of cards shared on ink stamp and scrap

Today's post shared details from my new video: June 2025 Card Inspiration: From Scraps to Stunning Designs.

In this blog post, I'm thrilled to share a variety of creative card-making techniques that you can try at home. Whether you're a seasoned card maker or brand new to the craft, there's something here for everyone. I'm Linda Bartolucci, and I've been crafting and teaching card-making for over 25 years as a Stampin' Up demonstrator. Join me as we explore these fun and versatile card styles!

Card making is a rewarding and creative endeavor that allows you to express your personality and style through paper crafting. Today, I'm excited to introduce you to some wonderful card-making techniques that I've developed and refined over the years.

If you're having trouble watching the video here, click this link to watch it directly on YouTube.

Use Your Scraps

One of the first things I want to showcase is my “Use Your Scraps” series, where I'll guide you on how to utilize those leftover paper scraps to create beautiful cards. You can find detailed instructions in my previous blog posts, linked below:

Herringbone Technique

The hexagon technique is a fantastic way to add a geometric flair to your cards. I love using a hexagon punch to create interesting layouts. Though the materials I used in the demonstration are retired, you can apply this technique with current supplies. Select one hexagon to feature a greeting for a polished finish.

Pinwheel Technique

The pinwheel technique involves cutting rectangles diagonally to form triangles. Arrange these around a focal point on your card. Add a greeting over the focal point and embellish with accents for a pop of color.

Diagonal Slice Technique

Creating two cards from one slice is possible with the diagonal cut technique. Stack two pieces of paper with desired sides facing each other, slice, and then realign the angles. You can add decorative elements like gold strips to elevate the design.

The next card in the video explains this Hexagon Punch Card.  Click here to view the post. You can listen to my instructions and then hopefully translate it into using different punches or die cuts to create the same pattern.

The next section of the video shares two cards made with the Delightful Wishes bundle.  You'll see this bundle again towards the end of the video with another Use Your Scrap technique.  You can view the post about the yellow card here.  The pink card is a fun creation just for this video.

For those of you looking to take the easy route for a cool technique – the Bokeh Paper is the way to go.  This card showcases this paper and one of my favorite stamp sets, With You In Mind.  You can see the post about this card here.

With the next card you'll find my pop up a picture of Sketch #2 and show a card that used this sketch for inspiration.  I'm looking forward to sharing all 10 of these sketches with you along with coordinating cards and ones that were inspired by the sketch.

You can see the post for this card here.

Now we jump into one of the brightest cards of the video with a Timid Tiger birthday card.  You can find the blog post here. Be sure to pay special attention to how I stacked the flowers to give both strength and dimension.

Keeping with the same bundle, Pretty Florals, as the card before (you can see the bundle here), this card uses the large dies and showcases the new In Colors.  Click on this link to get some lessons in other colors you can use with the In Colors as well as how to create your own Cloud Cover ink pad since Stampin' Up! will not be able to produce a foam version of this pad.  If you'd like to see how I created the large die card click this link to read the post.

In the last card I mentioned a blog post all about the new In Colors.  It's really a good read and you should check it out.  With this card I introduce my fundamentals of a masculine card.  You can mix and match my list of ideas to create your one-of-a-kind card for a special guy in your life.

Here is the blog post with a cool guy card as well as guidelines for making a guy card.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW

As mentioned earlier, this group of cards is made with unique cuts on a stack of three same-sized pieces of coordinating papers.  You can get all the details when you read this post.  I also explained it pretty well in the video (minus the specific dimensions).

The last pair of cards in the video show both a card with a sketch style post and a bonus card.  The second card you won't see on any blog post.  You can read the post here and then see the new card in the video.

Both these cards use one of my most basic sketches that I love to use when showcasing beautiful papers or a fun embossing folder.
