Happy Valentine's Day – this handmade card features a great new stamp set that you can use all year long.  It's also part of a bundle where you get the cute label punch too.  I hope you're planning a fun day to celebrate with friends, family or just spoil yourself with time in your craft space.  Let's look at this card.

The Card

Today's Happy Valentine's Day handmade card uses some basic card making skill you should always keep to make a quick card.  The background is created by repeatedly stamping a single image.  This technique allows you to make your own “paper background” without the struggle of sorting through all your papers.

Let's Make It

Now let's make this simple card.

  1. Fold and burnish the score line for the card base
  2. Stamp the greeting and the border on a Basic White layer scrap; then crop with To the Point Punch
  3. Stamp the inside greeting on a 4 x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer
  4. Use Stampin' Seal to adhere the Basic White layer to the inside of the card
  5. Crop the circle using the circle die set and mini machine
  6. Stamp the Flirty Flamingo layer with the large heart and mini hearts to create the background
  7. Adhere the Flirty Flamingo layer to the front of the card base
  8. Adhere the cropped circle to the lower right corner to show off more of the stamped background
  9. Attach the punched greeting with Stampin' Dimensionals
  10. Add a few Flirty Flamingo Rainbow Adhesive Dots

Your Turn

When I was making this card I knew I wanted to post it on Valentines' Day.  That's why I used a simple pattern that you can copy it over and over – here's the formula:

  • Fold the cardbase
  • Stamp a background layer
  • Add a greeting layer with a mat that matches the stamped image color
  • Add a layer inside with background layer images in the lower corner
  • Put it all together!
