The Card

The Supplies

Here's a closer look at the this beautiful card.  One of the things that I like the best about it – you can use up your scraps to make this.  Find scraps of coordinating colors (in this case the 2025-2027 In Colors) along with a coordinating green such as Garden Green and start die cutting.  I'd love to see your take on this card with whatever floral dies and card stock colors you choose.

Let's Make It

Now let's make this elegant birthday card.  If you're a crafter that likes to copy exactly down to the 1/8″ I've included the dimensions below as well.

  1. Fold and burnish the score line for the Basic White card base
  2. Stamp the “Let's Celebrate” in Sea Secret ink on the Basic White rectangle
  3. Add Adhesive Sheet backings to your scraps of colorful card stock
  4. Die cut one flower and one inset from each of your five colors
  5. Die cut coordinating stems and leaves in green
  6. Attach the insets to the flower bases
  7. Arrange the flowers on the Basic White layer – once you're happy with the arrangement peel off the Adhesive Sheet and stick them to the Basic White layer
  8. Add in your leaves and stems
  9. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to add the greeting in the lower right
  10. Attach the Basic White layer to the card base

PRO TIP:  Even when you peel the Adhesive Sheet backing and arrange your flowers set them on your card gently.  Then add your greenery and finally set the flowers into place securely pressing down the flowers.  Following this tip should also mean that you don't need any adhesive on the greenery since it will stay in place with the flowers anchoring it.

PRO TIP: This card would be great for mass production. Maybe use up LOTS of scraps making these flowers and create five cards or more.

PRO TIP:  Leave the greeting off the card and add it when your card has a purpose.  You could use this card not only as a celebration, but also, how wonderful to send this bright, cheery handmade card when your special person needs to be cheered up or get well or just know you're thinking of them.
