clean-and-simple-celebration-card

Today's clean and simple celebration card features one of my favorite techniques – inlaid die.  I followed the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and used the beautiful flower die from Wild Rose Dies.  To finish the card off I grabbed a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthday Greetings.  What kind of cards do you like to make?  Clean and simple is my usual style; I am always in awe of paper crafters who can make cards with lots of elements and not end up with a hot mess, but a work of art.  Generally, when I stray from a simple format I end up with a hot mess.  How about you?

Here's the scoop for today's card – grab some scraps of Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White for all the die cutting.  Then you'll need a top folding Whisper White card measuring 4 1/4″ by 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Cut the rose outline die in Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White four times each.  To make assembly easier you can put die adhesive sheet on the back of each scrap of card stock before die cutting.
  2. Die cut the largest square from the Stitched Shapes dies from Flirty Flamingo
  3. Attach all four Flirty Flamingo flower outlines together.
  4. Using your Take Your Pick tool insert four layers of the Whisper White pieces into the stack of Flirty Flamingo dies
  5. Attach the finished rose to the center of the square die cut
  6. Add the square die cut to the center of the card in a diamond shape
  7. Stamp the greeting on Whisper White and cut a tight rectangle
  8. Using Mini Dimensionals attach the greeting below the flower
