I decided to make a card with spring colors and texture when I issued a challenge to my Facebook fans and saw the current Global Design Project challenge. Blending these two was my own personal challenge. What do you think? My challenge to my Facebook fans started out in an email I sent yesterday. You can read that email here and sign up for more like it here.
Tuesday evening I filmed myself putting a dish towel over a bin of stamps and then picking one to use to make a card. I had already planned to take the Global Design Project spring theme challenge. The Tasteful Textures bundle didn't exactly scream spring, but when making it with Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather I think it works pretty well. If you want to watch the video you can see it here.
OK, let's talk about this card!
DIMENSIONS
- Whisper White – 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″; score at 4 1/4″; 5″ by 3 3/4″
- Daffodil Delight – 4″ by 5 1/4″
- Highland Heather – 3 7/8″ by 5 1/8″
INSTRUCTIONS
- Stamp the flowers in Highland Heather on the Daffodil Delight square that you cut from the Layering Squares die
- Emboss the flowers with the coordinating die and an embossing pad in your die cutting machine
- Use the Dark Highland Heather Stampin Blend to color five Basic Rhinestone Jewels and add these to the flowers
- Use the circle stencil and Daffodil Delight ink to make the polka-dot background on the Whisper White layer
- Add the Daffodil Delight layer using Stampin Dimensionals
- Tie a double bow from Whisper White Baker's Twine using the 10 Second Bow Maker then attach with Mini Glue Dot
- Attach the Daffodil Delight large layer to the Whisper White card
- Attach the Highland Heather layer next and finally the Whisper White layer with the flowers and bow

Did you know Stampin' Up! makes purple rhinestones? Well they don't make this exact shade, but here's what you can do – color them yourself! I colored my Basic Rhinestone Jewels with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin Blend – voila!
