I'm starting a series of posts and today is about me and my team. I signed up with Stampin' Up! 20 years ago. My anniversary was this past Saturday. When I signed up it was to get the discount. You see, I'm a computer nerd and when the Stampin' Up! bug bit me I was hooked. My sponsor knew she had to talk to me about the discount opportunity when I placed my third order in three months and told her I already had planned out what my next three orders would be. I purchased the Starter Kit looking forward to a discount on my future purchases.
Little did I know at that time we would move to Trumbull, CT just a few months later. In the midst of getting ready to move I met some wonderful demonstrators in my area and with their encouragement and support I launched my business. Well, first I got settled into our new home and met some babysitters; then I got busy booking workshops.
In the early days it was all about the workshop (home party). I hosted a Stamp Camp (class) every month, and went travelled all over southern Connecticut and into New York teaching women how to paper craft with rubber stamping. Many of them, like me, saw the opportunity to not only make money to pay for their craft supplies, but help out with family bills.
During this journey I have crossed paths with hundreds of wonderful crafters, but those I sponsored with Stampin' Up! hold a special place.
MY TEAM NAME
In my third year with Stampin' Up! I got to name my team. It took some time, but I knew the word success was going to be in there. One of my favorite parts about direct sales is that you can stay for as long as it works for you. My second favorite is that you can press hard on the gas and work full time and then life's circumstances can change and you back down to part time or maybe less. After much thought my team name and tag line came to me:

Over the past 20 years I have sponsored dozens of demonstrators and the first thing I let them know is how happy I am to be their sponsor; the second is this can be whatever they want it to be. To date I've watched women enjoy the discount; delight in having a little income; earn vacations for their families and enjoy the chance to be the first to purchase new products and get together all over the country to craft.
