Today we are going to Make Three Cards at a Time – Use Your Scraps to Mass Produce three cards from one layout.  You'll cut your card layers once and then mix and match to make three cards.  Read below to see how easy this is.

The Card

Here's the first card I made after cutting all my supplies.  You can see that there are three pieces of paper below the greetings.  These were made by cutting three of the same size papers at once.  Then I mixed and matched them to make three “identical” cards.

Let's Make It

Now for all the secrets!  The hardest part of this card is getting your scraps cut and placed on the middle layer correctly.  Let me know in  the comments if you want me to make a video about how this all goes together.

Use Your Scraps to Mass Produce

  1. Find three pieces of paper that you can cut down to 5″ x 3.5″
  2. Make sure these papers can work together on one card
  3. Stack all the papers and then cut along the short side
  4. First cut 3/4″
  5. Next cut 1″
  6. Stack each dimension (one stack of 3/4″ strips, one stack of 1″ strips and one of 1 3/4″ strips)
  7. Grab your Crumb Cake layers and lay out all three
  8. Take a 3/4″ strip in one pattern, a 1″ strip in another pattern and a 1 3/4″ strip in yet another pattern
  9. Glue these to the Crumb Cake layer
  10. Repeat steps 7 – 9 until you have three different looking card layers.

NOTE:  You may not want to glue everything down until after you finish sorting your scraps.

If you find these instructions a little over-the-top – leave me a comment and I will add making a video about this technique to my upcoming lineup.

Here is the third variation from this technique.

Your Turn

I think this technique can serve you well when you need to make lots of cards.  You could even use three embossing folders to make unique textures for your cards.  Again, leave a comment if you want to see a video about how to put this together.
