Easy Handmade Thank You Card for Small Business

Today's card is an easy handmade thank you card made with one of my favorite new stamp sets My Small Business.  I send a lot of thank you cards and this stamp set is going to be a go-to for the foreseeable future.  So many options and I haven't even started using the images yet.  If you own a small business this stamp set could be a game changer for you!  And if you don't, but find yourself sending lots of thank yous – I would still recommend grabbing this stamp set.  This is one that I don't expect to live beyond this catalog.

I had a bunch of thank yous to make.  Thank you to everyone who has already ordered from My Stampin' Up! Store or Retired Product Sale.  This layout is one I like to use for producing a lot of card quickly.  I have the supplies and measurements below.  I'm adding a new section for these blog posts where I detail how I cut my papers as well.  I'm hoping this will help you use up your scraps and use your full-sized card stock and papers efficiently.  Drop a comment if you like the new feature.

When I chose the colors for this card I wanted to highlight my two favorites from the new In Color Collection.  I have fallen in love with Petunia Pop and Summer Splash.  I like not only how these colors fit in with the other purples and blues in the other collections, but also how pretty they are on their own.  I'm confident you'll be seeing a lot of both of these – at least until holiday stamping sets in.

Did you know I have a super easy way to collect all the products in these new In Colors?  Check out my In Color Club to see all the details.  This club is only open until May 10, 2024 so be sure to sign up soon if you want to get everything in a easy pay as you go club.

THOUGHTS ON CUTTING

I know this picture shows you a Petunia Pop layer and the card pictured doesn't.  Here's the scoop – I made six cards with a Summer Splash layer and Petunia Pop banner and then reversed that combination for the other six.  In either case this cutting advice applies (as well as the measurements and supplies).

Basic Beige – still one of my favorite additions to the new catalog.  I like to score first and then cut.  Why?  When you score the entire sheet once and then cut you only do each once.  If you cut first you'll need to score each card – when mass producing this can take up a lot of time!

Summer Splash layer – 5 1/5″ by 4″.  Use up your scraps to get this size and then use full sheets when you have to.  Cut the long side at 10 1/2″ and then 5 1/4″.  Cut these pieces at 8″ and then 4″.

Petunia Pop Banner – die cut this from the layer above!  That's what's shown in the photo above this section.  This is great trick for using up layers efficiently.  Sometimes when I'm making a card like this, but not using any small dies, I will still cut out a favorite die of mine to save for a later date.

Greeting from Hexagon Punch – again use up your scraps.  I have a lot of almost quarter sheet scraps and found I could get three punches from one quarter sheet of card stock.  For this layer I punched first and then used a stamp positioner* to add the greeting.

CUTTING YOUR LAYERS

  • Basic Beige Card Base – 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″ score at 4 1/4″
  • Summer Splash – 5 1/4″ by 4″
  • Unbound Beauty Designer Series Paper – 3 1/2″ by 4 3/4″
  • Banner and Punched Card Stock – scrap (see THOUGHTS ON CUTTING for tips)

ASSEMBLING YOUR CARD

  1. Punch out a Heartfelt Hexagon
  2. Stamp greetings in Petunia Pop and Summer Splash using a stamp positioning tool
  3. Die cut a banner from Summer Splash – set aside to use on another card.  Die cut a banner from a Petunia Pop layer and use it on this card
  4. Using Mutipurpose Liquid Glue
    • Attach Summer Splash layer to card base
    • Attach Unbound Beauty DSP to Summer Splash layer
    • Attach banner to back of greeting
  5. Using Stampin' Dimensional at the top and bottom of the Basic White punched greeting attach to lower right corner of card
  6. Add Basic Jewel Rhinestones for bling
