Showcasing New Colors, New Stamps, New Papers and more today! I'm so excited to share the new catalog and all the new products with you. Today is the first in a series of three cards that I'm sharing with all new colors and other products. Today's card is a simple birthday card using a great new stamp set called Simply Said. This set covers you for all the most common greetings in both a block font and script font. This will be on in Favorites post on May 1 for sure!
Before I explain how I constructed the card let me remind you that my In Color Club and Paper Share are both open now. All you need to do is register now – payment will be collected later.
THE LAYERS
This card layout goes back to the beginnings of my card making – long before I was using dies, folder, punches and more. Using simple rectangles to highlight the greeting and let the paper be the star of the show!

I added the band of Basic White card stock because when I layered the greeting on the Pretty in Pink and Shy Shamrock it started to fight with the pretty paper from the Unbounded Beauty pack. Adding the 4″ by 2″ strip of Basic White allowed the greeting to “pop” without distracting from the beautiful paper.
