Today I'm sharing how to make a single-layer-card-for-a-guy single layer card for a guy. This card is uber easy to make and if you just want to copy it read the supplies and have at it. If you'd like to learn a little more about why I chose what I did to make it a card for a guy and how to make your single layer cards “pop” as much as your multi-layer then keep reading. But first I'm pausing for a personal recap…
Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had a great time with new friends here in Florida and friends visiting from Connecticut. THEN I got the awesome surprise of my daughter visiting – she arrived late Saturday night. She and Bruce (my husband) had planned the whole thing – many tears of joy!
OK, back to cards. There are a few elements that make this a great card for a guy:
- Use of neutral colors
- Lack of bling and ribbon
- Minimal stamping
Besides those three I want you to consider that the simple element of the stitched border gives this card a lot more interest while still staying a single layer card. Over the next few weeks I will share other ways to create single layer cards that your friends and family would be happy to receive.
Do you ever make single layer cards? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Adding a single pop of color with the Pacific Blue watercolor pencil made all the difference. I was tempted to keep coloring, but I'm glad I left it this way – what do you think?
