stampin seal review

I've been planning to share this with you since my pre-order arrived, but I wanted to be sure I used this product enough to give you a fair and informative Stampin' Seal Review.  In this post I will share with you my thoughts, tips and recommendations.  Although I am mostly talking about the Stampin' Seal almost everything applies to the Stampin' Seal + as well.  Please know these are my thoughts, tips and recommendations and mine alone.

THOUGHTS

Overall I am super happy with this new adhesive.  Many of the flaws of Snail have been eliminated.  It lays down more smooth than Snail did.  I haven't had the less-than-full width of adhesive lay down like I did with Snail.  Plus, it is much stronger than Snail.  I like the larger container.  It fits nicely in hand.  The cap is a little annoying – see tips for some ideas.  At the beginning I did have some trouble with the “sticky” not being at the top of the dispenser when I would return to it.  I have some tips for you with that.  I also love that the “booger” problem seems to be resolved:)

RECOMMENDATION

I would highly recommend you give this a try!  You get almost 600 inches in each refill.  The way I lay down the adhesive – around the edge on all four sides and one diagonal – I can stick down about 30  layers before I run out.  With all the waste from Snail, having to put two lines of adhesive because one was too thin, I get a lot more out of this.

TIPS

  1. Careful with the pressure you use to lay down the adhesive.  Less is more.
  2. If you find it's not laying adhesive when you start; don't press harder.  Adjust your angle by lowering the base of the case towards your project.
  3. As a last resort you can roll the top of the dispenser to bring the sticky portion back to the top.

I really like the Stampin' Seal + as well.  I haven't found a need to roll it EVER.  This is the adhesive you would use for 3D projects.
