My Magnetic Platform has been working overtime! If you've followed me for awhile you know that I'm not one to cut things out. I love our punches and framelits since they do this work for you! Now, Stampin' Up! has the Magnetic Platform to keep your framelits in place over your stamped images. It make it so easy to get a crisp cutout without worry that the framelit will slip.
We created this card at my New Catalog Kickoff a few weeks ago. I have learned a bit about using the platform since then. That night we used it to create the tag. Here is a better shot of the tag:
It was a little challenging to cut the tag and the slot for the ribbon at the same time. In order to make these two cuts you are using two framelits. Here is a picture of the Chalk Talk Framelits:
The idea of creating the slits where you want on each of the tags is great. The reality is that the magnetic pull of the platform and the larger tag framelit can make the little slot go crooked. The solution:
Cut the slit first! Here are the correct steps for making the tag pictured above:
- Stamp the image on a scrap of white paper leaving at least an inch above the image.
- Use one of the slit framelits to create a space for your ribbon and cut with the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform.
- Use the tag framelit to finish the tag cutting around the image and the slit. Again, be sure to use the Big Shot in combination with the Magnetic Platform.
EXTRA TIP: You will also find that the Magnetic Platform works better with a newer Acrylic Pad between the Magnetic Platform and cardstock.
