stampin up holiday catalog merry mini punches glitter paperI love Stampin' Up! Glimmer Paper!  Yesterday I showed you a sneak peek of this card.  What do you think?  I have to confess that I thought of this idea, but couldn't decide on a color combination.  Then I was shopping at Target and saw this wall display:

Target Red GoldThat was it I had the color combo I wanted to do.  I thought about red and silver, but this put me over the top.  I just liked the way the gold and red worked together.  I still think red and silver look great so I'm sure you'll see something with those two very soon.

True confessions time – I wasn't planning on sponging around the main layer of the card.  I think this would look lovely with just clean lines.  Unfortunately, after I was 99% done (all the punch outs were on the card with dimensionals and I got the greeting to look the way I wanted).  I noticed that I had a little smudge of red ink near the edge of the card by the "Be".  That's when I decided to take the sponge to the rescue.  Another option would have been to use our sanding block every so gently to removed the ink.  That looks fine to the naked eye, but the camera isn't so kind to that "fixing" technqiue.

In order to make the "Be Merry" greeting I stamped the "Merry" first in the corner at an angel.  Then I used a marker to ink up the "Be".  Since I was stamping on such light cardstock and didn't want to make a mess, I put a sticky note over the "lieve" part of "believe" before I stamped it and after I inked with the marker.  This insured that none of the other letters would cast a shadow on my clean card.

I hope you like today's card and are well on your way to completing your holiday cards.  Remember that you can take my Clean and Simple Christmas Card Class online anytime if you still need some inspiration in that department.  If you are on my email list then you have a link to the preferred pricing that will be availalbe until Thursday, November 15.
