As promised, here is the basic box that I put the ornament in. I created it with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and added Candlelight Christmas DSP to the top and sides. Then I wrapped it all up with Early Espresso Tulle and Real Red Tafetta Ribbon (retired).
When I measured the ornament it needed a box that was 6" by 6" and at least 2 1/2" tall. That made the decision pretty easy – make a 6" by 6" box out of 12" by 12" cardstock. I scored the bottom at 3" on all four sides. For the top first I cut off 1/2" on two sides. That made an 11 1/2" by 11 1/2" square. I scored the top at 2 7/8" on all four sides to leave room for the top to slide on easily.
I layered the DSP on all four sides and the top with snail. I used Sticky Strip to hold the box together. It didn't take much time at all and I was really happy with how it came out.
I hope you are having a great weekend. Today is decorating day. We are decorating the house and trees. Christmas will be in full bloom at the Bartolucci's by the time our heads hit the pillow again!
