December is a great month to make sure to get your card stash up-to-date. I'm sure you're making lots of lists this month. Even if you just take an inventory and get a list of card you need to stamp you'll be way ahead when you start paper crafting in the New Year.
My stash of sympathy cards dwindled during the fall. When I checked my colors that had extra layers I found this Mint Macaron and a bunch of Very Vanilla cards. This design came together quick and now I have another seven in the file.
This was one of those Saturday football cards. The kind you can put together while watching something you enjoy on TV. After all the layers were cut and embossed this is the order I put it together:
- Stamp the “With Sympathy” in Mint Macaron
This new dynamic Cable Knit Sweater Folder from Stampin' Up! is the bomb! The reason they call it dynamic is because the impression is so thick. The folder itself is so thick you only need one acrylic pad on the top of the folder to get this great impression. You also need to spritz your card stock a little for the deepest impression. When making a card I've been using rubbing alcohol because it dries so fast. If I was using this for something in a scrapbook, I'd just use water and give it a few minutes to dry.
I embossed not only the Mint Mararon layer of the card, but also the Paisley Prints DSP squares so that it's like a quilt and a blanket. Since the sentiment was “get well sooner” I wanted a warm and cozy feel
Sending comfort in a “With Sympathy” DIY Sympathy greeting card is many times all you can do when a friend loses someone. It's nice to have them on-hand so you can be there for the ones you care about.
I'm loving the new Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper and Better Together Stamps. This stamp set was featured in my Top Ten Favorites. My inspiration for this card was the newest Mojo Monday sketch:
QUICK TIP: You can tie the front and inside of your card together using Stampin' Up! coordinating washi tape packages!
FREE TIMES TWO! No matter what your stamping style NOW is the time to Try On
Thinking of You – one of the BEST greetings! You can stamp it on a colorful uplifting card to cheer up a friend. You can stamp it on a softly colored card to show empathy or sympathy for a hard time or loss. You can stamp it on any color just to let a loved one or friend know you are thinking of them – great for kids away at college!
This was one of the projects at our last Facebook Workshop. Every month we spend time together sharing projects and chatting about stamping. This month I will share five new projects with everyone along with a fun contest and door prizes. Be sure to RSVP soon so you can get in on the contest.
QUICK TIP: Need another layer of color? This card uses swirls of Mint Macaron ink made with a
Phrases like “thinking of you” and an easy-to-use set of images makes Sheltering Tree one of my top go-to stamp sets. You can make a cute card using this set on just a single piece of neutral card stock and a few coordinating ink pads.
When I constructed this card and then took a look I realized it's jam-packed with my favorites. The Lace Tea Doily pieces in my scrap bin were the inspiration for this card. The greeting on this card is just the right size to tuck it behind – then I decided on the subtle colors. When you're “thinking of you” it's usually a more calm feeling and these colors convey calm and caring (to me). Then just grab a great green – you know how much I love Pear Pizzaz and a great brown for the tree trunk.
This get well card uses many products on sale this week from Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! Weekly Deals cycle every Tuesday. That makes today the last day of the week to get some great deals! The card uses three of the five products that are on sale this week: Basic Black Baker's Twine (say that five times fast), Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper, and Rhinestone Jewels.
