Halloween DIY Sour Cream Containers

Making bunches of Halloween DIY sour cream containers went super fast!  I'm very excited to send these to Tuscaloosa for Halloween.  They've been stuffed with candy and wrapped up so they can easily be delivered to my kids friends'.  Halloween DIY sour cream containers

Why is this called a “sour cream container”?  This packaging was designed after the single serve sour cream containers that were popular before squirt bottles became cheap enough to buy for buffet-style serving.  Here is a picture of one they have used at Disney properties:

All you need to begin making these Halloween DIY sour cream containers is a square of designer series paper or card stock.  Then follow this simple diagram:

Halloween Vampire DIY Greeting Card

This cute Halloween vampire is the icing on the cake for this DIY greeting card.  I have to confess this isn't my usual style.  I try to make my samples using one or two stamp sets, but today I used all my Halloween sets to create this card for you.  Take a look at all the wonderful products Stampin' Up! has to offer for Halloween.  The twist will be using some of these as the year progresses – be sure to check back daily as I already have some great ideas to share with you.  Hint: Ghoulish Grunge will be in more projects between now and the end of the year when it “goes away” for awhile.

The inspiration for this card was not a sketch!  I know – this week has been about sketches, but I decided to play the Fab

Herringbone Technique with Stampin’ Up! Washi Tape

The herringbone technique with Stampin' Up! washi tape looks complicated, but it's pretty easy.  The four or five rolls of tape in a bundle all coordinate well to make a great pattern of color.  BTW – if you are looking for a way to store your washi tape check out THIS POST. And as a bonus the washi tape is a perfect width for this technique so you only have to cut the ends:)

Here is a quick description if you haven't tried this technique before:

Add strips of Designer Series Paper or washi tape in this fashion making four triangle areas.  Start by adding the longest piece.

Fill each quadrant in using an “L” shape pattern as shown in the left quadrant with two more strips.

Stampin’ Up! Halloween Scenes and MojoMonday

Stampin' Up! Halloween Scenes framelits give you lots of options for Halloween! I needed a little inspiration to get me going this morning so I turned to the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I knew I wanted to share a Halloween card with you and once I saw the design (and finished my first cup of coffee) my wheels started turning.

Here is the sketch for this week:

You can see that I strayed a little bit, but that's the whole idea of a sketch – inspiration! The major parts of the sketch are included, I just took a little liberty with the banner and embellishment. For that I used the moon and the witch.

Speaking of moon – did you notice it's not pure yellow? Daffodil Delight in Stampin' Up! words. It started as a

In about a month you will need to be organized for Halloween.  In the next two weeks I will share candy holders you can give as gifts or classroom treats, more cards and Halloween Holders that you can use for non-sweet items.  I know many of you have restrictions on what sorts of treats you can send to school or give at a party.  Be sure to watch for ideas that should help out!

For this card I started with a Tangerine Tango card and then layered on Basic Black just to make the
