Stitched Shapes with Stampin’ Up! Snow Place

Stitched Shapes Framelits come in squares, circles and ovals. On this card you can see a rectangle. Read more to find out how to create this shape!

Fancy Frost Designer Series paper makes an appearance on this card.  You can see how I used this versatile paper without adding ink in THIS POST.  To create the snowy blue I used lots of Marina Mist ink and just a little Dapper Denim.  Both colors found their way to the paper using a Sponge Brayer.

The Snow Place stamp set is one of those great sets that has both inside and outside greeting.  Here is a look at how I decorated the inside:

Now for the big reveal – the rectangle greeting on the front of the card.  First I stamped

Simple DIY Christmas Card

This simple DIY Christmas card could easily be dressed up with some embellishments, but I like the clean look as it’s shown:

For this card you can use the Cherry Cobbler ink pad to stamp the “at” and “Christmas”.  To color the holly berries first stamp the whole thing in Emerald Envy ink and then color over the green with a Cherry Cobbler marker.  I found the fine tip gave the most control to keep the cherries round and small.

“Why do you add the quarter sheet on top of the card?”  I hear this a lot.  Two reasons come to mind.  First this way you can add dimensionals under the quarter sheet to draw attention to the front layer of the card.  Second, if you happen to mis-stamp (and we all can do that) then you only have to toss a quarter

Is Your Card Stash Up-to-Date?

December is a great month to make sure to get your card stash up-to-date. I’m sure you’re making lots of lists this month. Even if you just take an inventory and get a list of card you need to stamp you’ll be way ahead when you start paper crafting in the New Year.

card stash up-to-date

My stash of sympathy cards dwindled during the fall. When I checked my colors that had extra layers I found this Mint Macaron and a bunch of Very Vanilla cards. This design came together quick and now I have another seven in the file.

This was one of those Saturday football cards. The kind you can put together while watching something you enjoy on TV. After all the layers were cut and embossed this is the order I put it together:

  1. Stamp the “With Sympathy” in Mint Macaron

Simple Thank You DIY Greeting Card

A simple thank you note still goes a long way.  It’s so fun to get a card in the mail – and that doesn’t happen often enough these days.  If you are a customer who places an order of any size or belongs to Paper Pumpkin you will receive a hand stamped thank you card from me each month.  The twist on these cards is that I usually write my little note on a post-it inside so you can pass the card on when you need to send a quick thank you.

Did you notice the nicely embossed white card stock?  I didn’t lift a finger except to use my Stampin’ Trimmer – love the Fancy Frost Designer Series Paper!  You can add the paper as is or use ink over to make it pop

Suite Seasons Triple Play DIY Holiday Cards

Today I’m sharing my Suite Seasons triple play cards from our recent Facebook workshop.  The Suite Seasons stamp set is one of my go-to stamp sets this season. At our last Facebook Workshop I shared three card versions for three designs. The pictures below show my versions for the Suite Season design.

The first picture shows the easiest version of this card.  This version is also the most simple to mass produce.

This next version takes it up a step, but would still be very easy to mass produce.

Finally, this version may take a little more time and materials, but your friends and family will love all your hard work.

Give Thanks for Family and Pumpkin Pie!

Today is a day to give thanks for family and pumpkin pie!  If you’ve been following me for awhile you know we have a wonderful tradition of eating pumpkin pie for breakfast on Thanksgiving.  If you’d like to see the pictures of this years feast please check out my facebook page.  I will be posting them by 11AM ET.

It still gives me so much joy to create simple cards that people can enjoy.  This card is certainly simple, but it says all it needs to and that’s what’s important.

SPECIAL NOTE:  If you’d like a chance to win the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder go to THIS POST and fill out the form at the top of the post.  Having some issues with comments – sorry about that!

Holly Berry Christmas Card

This Holly Berry Christmas card not only works for two fun challenges, but showcases those great new framelits that you can grab this month! For today’s card the challenge is to combine two challenges and the new Stitched Shapes framelits. For this card the stitched oval is layered on a scalloped oval, but you can easily have these stitched layers stand on their own.

You’ve seen this stamp set a lot. The first thing that’s wonderful about it is the builder punch that coordinates with it. The second feature are the layering stamps – and they are very forgiving. The third feature (and I’m sure there are more) are the images and words included.

This card combines the Fab Friday Sketch challenge and the Global Design

Give Thanks DIY Greeting Card

I love that we pause between Halloween, Hanukkah and Christmas to give thanks.  This year I’m sending Thanksgiving cards.  I have a lot to be thankful for at the crazy time we live in and I want to share that with the people I care the most about.  Ok, pick your jaw up, I know I’m in the card making business, but sometimes after you make the card, take the pictures and write about it you’re just done.  Time to move on and you forget the joy that comes in writing the note inside and sending the card.  One of my goals for 2017 is to share more joy.  Have you started thinking about 2017?

To create this card I used the Mojo Monday sketch.  I finished the card yesterday, but as those on my email list know,
