Happy Birthday DIY Greeting Card with Pictogram Punches

pictogram punches, stampin up punches, punch pack, lost lagoon, birthday card

Pictogram Punches is one of my go-to sets!  In THIS POST asked last week what your favorite new Stampin' Up! products were.  Some of us had the same things on our list and others completely different – that's the beauty of the diversity of our catalog.  In THIS POST I announced the winners for the Blog Candy giveaway.  I haven't heard from everyone so please email me your snail address so I can send out your gifts.

When I sat down to create this card I wanted a happy birthday card that I could send to my not-so-girly niece.  She just turned 11!  I thought switching the “flowers” to stars and using a more gender neutral color pallet would help.  My two shapes for this card are stars and circles.

Happy Mojo Monday!

Missed me?  I was on a wonderful vacation after a very turbulent end to the school year.  I'm so happy to be back with you!  And today is Taryn's 19th birthday!  I can't believe she's that old – she is very happy because in Alabama (where she goes to school) there are lots of local benefits to being 19.  This is the birthday card I made for her.  A little last minute (since I'm also using the Mojo Monday Sketch from today) but we were away until yesterday.

I got to use both new heart punches for this card and I have to say I just love the fun, flirty look of the new Sweetheart Punch.  Of course I still love the combination of Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Bermuda Bay.  Did you notice that you can get a whole package of Bermuda

DIY Happy Birthday Greeting Card

This birthday card can work for anyone.  It's got masculine colors with just a few accessories and no bling.  But also, it has scalloped circles and soft colors which will make it work for a woman as well.  I used the Mojo Monday Sketch to design this card – leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

QUICK TIPS:  The sketch didn't call for any accessories, but the top right corner just looked too empty.  I wanted to make sure this card could still go to a guy if I need to so I only added our flat basic Neutral Buttons with a little bit of Espresso Baker's Twine.

Happy Birthday DIY Greeting Card

mojo336, starburst sayings, big shot, die cutting machine

Still really enjoying this extra large Happy Birthday stamp!  The other's are fun too and I will showcase them soon, but who doesn't love a great Happy Birthday Card?  For this card I used the sketch from Mojo Monday for inspiration.

Since the stamp has so many dots, I just kept the theme going.  The lace additions at the top and bottom of the card are actually the Lace Tape  on Very Vanilla card stock and then sponged with Strawberry Slush ink.  Then I peeled the tape away revealing the Strawberry Slush dotted tape image with only the Very Vanilla and Strawberry Slush colors.

Mojo Monday & Starburst Saying!

stamin up, die cutting maching, diy card making, hand made card, birthday card

Tomorrow is the beginning of Sale-a-Bration!  I am so excited to finally show you the beautiful brochure with all the FREE goodies inside!  Monday is a great day to get going and as this is the last week of the month it's time to get all those January items off you list too!

I enjoyed following the MojoMonday sketch to make this card this morning.  I knew I wanted to highlight at least one Sale-a-Bration item AND create a bright and cheery card to kick off the week.  When I think of bright and cheery I am naturally drawn to the Starburst Sayings stamp set.  I know this particular stamp has gotten quite a workout, but I really do enjoy using all the stamps in the set.  You can

Need a Quick and Easy Birthday Card?

hand made card, stampin up, punches, cupcake punch, diy card making, birthday card

You can put this birthday card together in a snap!  It's just one stamped image with a punched out cupcake and pearl – that's it!  The “happy birthday” sentiment is from the new Another Great Year stamp set.  There is one extra element on the card that you can use or not – the extra layer.

I chose to use the extra layer of Very Vanilla card stock because it adds a frame around the stamped image and cupcake.  It also makes for less waste if you need to stamp the image again or just try again with another quarter sheet instead of the full card.

All the elements of the cupcake can be punched out separately with 1″ strip.  This
