cable knit sweater folder

This new dynamic Cable Knit Sweater Folder from Stampin’ Up! is the bomb!  The reason they call it dynamic is because the impression is so thick.  The folder itself is so thick you only need one acrylic pad on the top of the folder to get this great impression.  You also need to spritz your card stock a little for the deepest impression.  When making a card I’ve been using rubbing alcohol because it dries so fast.  If I was using this for something in a scrapbook, I’d just use water and give it a few minutes to dry.

I embossed not only the Mint Mararon layer of the card, but also the Paisley Prints DSP squares so that it’s like a quilt and a blanket.  Since the sentiment was “get well sooner” I wanted a warm and cozy feel to the card.

I never would have put this color scheme togteher, but it comes from all the colors in the Paisley Print Designer Series Paper.  Do you have my Designer Series Paper Guides?  They are handy tools that tell you all the colors in the various Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers.  Be sure to pop over and download your copy today!

For the greeting I started out just stamping out the greeting and punching it with the Classic Label Punch.  Then I needed a layer to make it pop – I decided Rich Razzleberry was the way to go (green and red make each other stand out).  I liked the shape of the Bunch of Banners die to compliment the Classic Label Punch.  but now my edges were to harsh for the soft, cozy feel of the card.  That’s when I thought of adding the doilies.  But the doilie isn’t really Very Vanilla – it’s somewhere in between Whisper White and Very Vanilla – so I only used a little bit of it.  That still made the layer look wimpy.  Then I thought about the cute bow clips.  Since I used Rich Razzleberry, this card would more than likely go to a woman so why not get more feminine with a bow?  I liked all the elements I had pulled together, but they needed an under layer so the whole thing would stand out as one element.  That’s when I decided to add the Scalloped Oval Die in Delightful Dijon.

I used the Cable Knit Sweater Folder on the inside of the card as well.  Just a little strip of Rich Razzleberry card stock to tie it all together.
