School starts in just a few days here – what about where you live?  This is the LONGEST summer in so many ways.  I savored every minute of having both kids home as it’s the last extended period of time for who knows how long.  Taryn is pretty sure she’s going to stay in Tuscaloosa for next summer.  The kids got out of school mid-June and school doesn’t start until September 1.  Even though I won’t have kids in this school system, I just enjoy the return to the routine.

We have some very good friends who have senior daughter’s this fall.  That was my intention for this card.  I love that I can use the Little Numbers thinlits to make the card so personal.  Even though the Garden Green isn’t very feminine as a dominant color in the card, the Pool Party and Melon Mambo freshen it up.  Once I added the cute flowers in the corner with the “pop” of white there was no doubt this card is for a girl.

QUICK TIP:  I started out mounting the “12th” directly on the DSP, but I found that it got lost in the dark color and pattern of the paper.  Layering it on a complimentary piece of card stock with a different shape (oval versus rectangle) really made it the focal point of the card.

NEW PRODUCT:  The wooden “celebrate” is attached with this great new product available on September 1 – Fine Tip Glue!  You have total control and it comes out through a fine tip pin for extra precision.
