DIY Boy and Girl Birthday Cards

It's a double card day! I had fun with this layout and decided to make two versions. The Schoolhouse Designer Series paper is so fun to work with I just couldn't resist. Are you a color combo hoarder? Do you love to find out new color combos that will work for you? What about Stampin' Up! Designer Series paper? Are you like me an you fall in love with ALL of them? If this is you then be sure to download my FREE Designer Series Paper guide for the Annual Catalog. You will find color combos for all the current papers PLUS the special card stock packs that are offered with each.

“Necessity is the mother of invention” – this old English proverb inspired my card. I needed more birthday cards and there was a great sketch that caught my eye. I decided that the Candy Dots with the Pool Party banner lent themselves better to a “boy” card. The bow gave the card on the left an instant “girl” vibe, but I tried to keep the colors neutral for the not-so-girly girl in your life.
